Pine Bugs

3.1 Bug Policy

When a bug is identified in an old release of Pine, there is a very strong possibility that the associated code has been re-written to the point that a fix will not apply to the current release. Hence, if we can't reproduce the problem in the current version, our standard response will be to ask you to upgrade.

Incomplete documentation of past bugs and when they were fixed can be found at the Pine Release Chronology & Version Changes page at the URL:

Subject: Pine 4.21 bug - Filter

Filter doesn't work at all when specifying a Specific Folder.

If the folder is an email folder, it complains that the folder is not
found.

If the folder is a news folder, Pine hangs on 'busy' when you try to exit
the Setup Filter screen.

This appears to have been working in Pine 4.20

Subject: bug in pine 4.21: fails to find msg body during fwd

I have a message where pine 4.21 fails to find the message body during a
forward operation but pine 4.10 is fine. This is using pine as an IMAP
client (with UW server).

The mail is of the format:

Content-Type: multipart/signed; boundary=SLDf9lqlvOQaIe6s; micalg=pgp-md5;
              protocol="application/pgp-signature"

It _seems_ that the dashes in the PGP section are unbroken so I don't know
if this is an issue or not.

This seems to work if I fwd as attachment in 4.21 but only then....

I get this behavior, but I just press ^J and re-justify the paragraph. No
big deal.

Here's what it looks like, for anyone who's unfamiliar.

Here I am, just typing
aloooooooooooooooooong. Theeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen I press . followed by two
spaces and another word. Instead of wrapping the second word (then), it
wraps both words (along and then) together. As you can see, it looks
really stupid.  :)

Looks like a bug to me. I sent a message to myself with
"somebody@u.washington.edu" in the body, and it wouldn't take the address.

Any reason why this should be the correct behavior?
